Tonnes of litter
A local community volunteer group whose message is to encourage people to look after their own streets so that collectively we all look after the general area.
Join us on the first Sunday of every month
Walton litter pickers formed in April 2019 and in the intervening months have picked over 11 tonnes of litter from the streets of Walton. We are supported by Keep Britain Tidy and encourage people not to drop litter, but if you see it to please pick it up.
We run monthly group litter picks in Walton and encourage all of our members to Commit To Their Street.
We ask our volunteers to start from their homes, clean the street they live on, and make their way to the Eco Hub in Elmgrove for approximately 10am. Complementary coffee and cake will be provided for all. If anyone needs to borrow any litter picking equipment, please get in touch beforehand. We can provide litter pickers, hi-vis vests and rubbish collection bags.
Please remember to not pick up any sharp objects such as needles or broken glass, always wear gloves, use a litter picker (we have plenty you can borrow), stay safe, wear a hi-vis if you have one and be very careful around the roads and waters edge. If your children are accompanying you, they are your responsibility, so please keep an eye on them at all times. We hope to see you at the Hub for refreshments afterwards. HOWEVER, if the weather is awful, please stay at home. We will reschedule for another time.
