Cost Of Living Crisis Resources

Many people are finding it more difficult to make ends meet at the moment. Although the Eco Hubs remit is not poverty, deprivation or financial struggles etc we will always do what we can to help. However, there are times when people or other organisations need more help, or a different kind of help than the Eco Hub can provide.  Below is a list of organisations that may be better suited to your immediate situation.

Money Advice and Support

Citizens Advice – Help with debt, financial support, and benefits

Free School meals – Eligibility checker

Stepchange – Free debt advice

Walton Charity – A direct grants programme that supports individuals and families in Elmbridge facing financial difficulty.

Housing

Shelter – Offers advice on housing issues and homelessness

Crisis – Support people out of homelessness for good. They do this through education, training and support with housing, employment and health.

Foodbanks

Walton and Hersham foodbank

East Elmbridge Foodbank

Help for Families

Stripey Stork – Surrey baby bank collecting donations of clothes, toys and essential items for babies and children and rehoming them with local families experiencing hardship.

Home-Start – Provide compassionate, confidential help and expert support to families with young children through home visits, group support and advice on parenting challenges

Binti – Period dignity, making period products to those that need them. Collection boxes where residents can help themselves to pads if needed, in locations (such as libraries) across Surrey

Elmbridge Family Centre – Family centres provide one-to-one family support where family circumstances are having a significant impact on the health, development or wellbeing of the child/ children.

Domestic Abuse

Men’s Advice Line – A confidential helpline for men who are currently or who have previously experienced domestic abuse, providing emotional support and practical advice.

North Surrey Domestic Abuse Service – Free, confidential, independent and impartial advice to anyone aged 16 or above affected by domestic abuse.

Refuge – National domestic violence charity, providing a network of refuges across the country, support and domestic violence helpline, and advocacy for those within the court process.
