Meet the team

The Hub is run by a core team of dedicated volunteers with a wide range of skills and experience. We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We look forward to working with you to help make our community and environment better for all.

Michael Tumilty

Founder and Director

Having spent 26 years working in academia and medical research, Michael decided to focus more on his local community and has spent the last 3 years volunteering with various local charities and in the local vaccination centre.

Deb Tumilty

Director

Deb has worked as a scientist and consumer research specialist for many years, whilst bringing up her 3 children – Dillon, Harry and Megan.

Mark Ellis

Director

Mark joined the team as a Director in December 2022. Mark brings a wealth of experience to the organisation having spent 35 years in senior HR roles at various corporations in the City.

Julia Charlton

Director & Social Media Manager

Jules aka “Jules in the know” started volunteering with us a couple of years ago initially helping in the garden and then taking on responsibility for the social media side of the project. As of May 2025 Jules is now a very welcome addition to the team of Directors.

Winnie & Zuri

Chief biscuit eaters

Winnie and Zuri are the glue that keep us together. They remind us when it’s time to eat (frequently), take us for walks and are always available to listen to our gripes and provide much needed cuddles.
