How It Works
The Winter Coat Winter Warmer initiative invites everyone to donate spare winter clothing items such as coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. These donations will then be made available for free to visitors who require warm attire. The process is simple: just bring your lightly used or new items to the Eco Hub during our opening hours and hand them directly to a Duty Manager. We kindly ask that you only donate when we are open to avoid any issues related to fly-tipping—every bit of funding counts towards supporting our initiatives!
Why It Matters
1. Reducing Waste: By donating your unwanted winter clothing instead of discarding it, you help divert these items from landfills. Textile waste is a growing concern globally; this initiative not only promotes sustainability but also encourages responsible consumption within our community.
2. Supporting Those in Need: Many individuals in our area may find themselves without adequate winter clothing due to financial constraints or unforeseen circumstances. Our initiative serves as a lifeline by providing access to warm coats and accessories at no cost.
3. Community Connection: The Winter Coat Winter Warmer initiative fosters a spirit of generosity and compassion among residents. Everyone is welcome; there are no forms or eligibility questions involved—just come by if you need assistance or if you’d like to contribute.
4. Variety & Availability: The selection of available items will vary based on donations received; therefore, we encourage visitors not to be discouraged if they don’t find what they’re looking for on their first visit! Feel free to return as new items come in regularly.
